URGENT: Support Safer Schools in Louisiana

This Thursday, May 12th, Forum For Equality Louisiana, in collaboration with local and statewide organizations, will be bringing the Safe Schools bill, House Bill 112, before the Louisiana House Education Committee.

We ask for your support of House Bill 112 – anti-bullying policy for public elementary and secondary schools throughout Louisiana.

The passage of the Safe Schools Bill will strengthen our public elementary and secondary schools and protect all students from the detrimental and isolating effects of bullying. This legislation aims to combat peer victimization that is motivated by actual or perceived characteristics. As detailed in the bill, those characteristics includes race, color, religion, ancestry, national origin, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity or expression, physical characteristics, political persuasion, mental disability, or physical disability.

Please tell the Louisiana House Education Committee that you support Louisiana’s youth and HB 112 today. Your elected officials need to hear you and know that you support the Safe Schools Bill.

See the organizations and individuals that support the Safe Schools Bill. Is your organization or company not listed? Contact SarahJane Brady at sarahjane.brady@forumforequality.com to add it today!

Do you support the Safe Schools Bill? Add your name to the growing list of fair minded Louisianians that believe in making our schools safer.
