This morning, in response to repeated discriminatory actions against the LGBT community by the state’s chief legal officer, Forum for Equality demanded that Louisiana Attorney General Jeff Landry release all correspondence between his office and Louisiana Family Forum, anti-equality Louisiana House Member Mike Johnson, and all of the state legislators who signed the public request for the Attorney General’s opinion on Gov. John Bel Edwards’s Executive Order.
This public records request is part of our continued effort to monitor Landry’s actions as well as those aligned with his mission, with the intent of insuring that everyone plays by the same rules. We must ensure that our elected officials, and our community, realize the impact of their actions and know that Forum for Equality will always be here to keep any potential foul play in check.
Since Gov. Edwards issued his all-inclusive Executive Order forbidding LGBT discrimination in state hiring and contracts, Attorney General Landry and a select few others have seemingly been coordinated in attacking the Executive Order and the entire LGBT community.
The Attorney General’s Office is entrenched in a battle of bias and Forum for Equality is ready to prevail in this battle. It is important for the public to be made aware of Jeff Landry’s actions in order to empower citizens to demand those actions comply with all appropriate regulations and rules.
