Help us celebrate that #LoveIsTheLaw

Happy anniversary!June 26 marks the second anniversary of the U.S. Supreme Court ruling in favor of the freedom to marry for same-sex couples nationwide.

Remember how amazing it was to read the news and see that, at last, same-sex couples would be afforded equal dignity, respect, and protections as any other married couple? Remember how many happy, smiling couples (and beautiful, colorful rainbows) were splashed all over the Internet?

Let’s make it happen again this year – let’s flood social media, including Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram, with images of same-sex couples and proud supporters to celebrate how far we’ve come. Today, please share a photo of your love or a picture of yourself with a same-sex couple you love, and post it with the hashtag #LoveIsTheLaw.

This happy anniversary comes on the heels of a legislative session fraught with legislative attacks on the LGBTQ community, especially our transgender friends and neighbors. And opponents of LGBTQ equality have repeatedly encouraged President Trump to roll back marriage protections for same-sex couples, even going so far as to pressure him to appoint a Supreme Court Justice who would vow to overturn the marriage decision.

Clearly, there’s a lot of work to do and the fight for full LGBTQ equality continues on. Let’s use this anniversary to remind the nation that no one should face discrimination because of who they are or who they love – period – and forcefully assert the reality that #LoveIsTheLaw, once and for all.

Please join us by sharing your wedding photo, a photo of yourself celebrating at a loved one’s wedding, or your favorite marriage moment in your life, and let’s unite with one voice to celebrate that #LoveIsTheLaw – nationwide!

Yours in the fight for full equality,
