Take Action: LISTEN. LOBBY. ADVOCATE.

We have three actions that YOU can take to protect Louisiana Trans Youth.

1.) LISTEN: Tonight, Monday, May 3rd at 6PM, join us for our Louisiana Trans Youth Legislative Town Hall as we bring together trans advocates, medical professionals and families affected by the harmful attacks on trans lives this legislative session. Tune in to the livestream on Forum for Equality’s Facebook page.

2.) LOBBY: Tomorrow, Tuesday, May 4th, lobby your Louisiana State Senators and Representatives at the State Capitol in Baton Rouge. Come connect with organizers across the state as we amplify voices against anti-trans legislation while educating our Legislators around the harm these bills have on our community. More information here.

3.) ADVOCATE: The Louisiana House Committee on Education has scheduled a hearing tomorrow, Tuesday, May 4, to debate and vote on House Bill 542, one of the two bills filed this session that would ban trans kids from playing sports. Please contact these KEY members of the House Education Committee and let them know you oppose House Bill 542.

All you have to say is,“Hello, my name is ___________, and I live in _________, Louisiana. I’m calling/emailing to let Representative ___________ know that I am opposed to House Bill 542 because it would harm trans young people across the state.”
